Artist Statement

For me, the landscape isn't merely a visual subject; it's a vibrant, breathing narrative etched in light and time. My paintings emerge from an intense immersion in these stories, whether experienced directly, brush in hand amidst the elements en plein air, or allowed to resonate and evolve within the quietude of my studio.

Inspired by the Impressionist masters who first illuminated the poetry of light,  I strive to capture not just the surface appearance, but the underlying feeling of the landscape – the sun's warmth on skin, the cool whisper of a breeze, the profound stillness of a distant horizon.

Over 25 years of honing my craft has instilled in me the nuanced language of color and form, enabling me to translate these profound encounters onto canvas. Each painting carries within it a fragment of that journey, a tangible link to a specific moment and place. Beyond my personal artistic pursuit, I am driven by a desire to share this vision, and through teaching, I aim to ignite a similar passion in others, cultivating a community that truly sees and cherishes the beauty surrounding us.
